Explain how the property is used
Tell the provider about occupied rooms, children, pets, work hours and entrances that must remain usable. Describe driveway parking, gates and delivery restrictions. Ask how the proposed work affects normal access. Do not assume that neighbors' property or a public area can be used; the responsible parties must resolve any permissions before work is scheduled.
Agree on protection and storage
Ask where materials and disposal containers will be placed and who protects landscaping and nearby finishes. Discuss vehicles or belongings that may need moving and what the provider expects you to arrange. Put the responsibilities in the project notes. Ask how cleanup is checked, including fasteners and debris in areas people normally use.
Plan around stages and uncertainties
Request the anticipated work stages and the communication process for weather changes or discovered damage. Ask who secures the property between stages and how you will receive updates. A general website cannot promise a duration for your roof. Keep delivery, removal, installation and inspections distinct when discussing scheduling.
Confirm the work beyond the roof
Check whether gutters, satellite equipment, solar components, exterior repairs and interior restoration are included. Discuss which separate trades or approvals may be required and who coordinates them. Read payment and completion terms before setting a date. A written preparation plan helps avoid assuming tasks that neither party has accepted.
Prepare the relevant assessment.
Describe parking, entrances, landscaping and occupancy concerns when requesting a replacement assessment.
